Embodiment Construction

[0029] In the proposed system, the storage of reducing agent is based on the reversible solid-gas reaction type:

[0030]

[0031] Where the gas is ammonia and the solid is an anhydrous salt of the metal chloride type: MgCl 2 , SrCl 2 , CaCl 2 , BaCl 2 , ZnCl 2 Wait.

[0032] The uptake (i) and desorption (ii) reactions are fully reversible. The ammonia equilibrium pressure of the system can be determined by the Clausius-Clapeyron equation for a given temperature given by:

[0033] ln P NH 3 = - ΔHr RT + ΔSr R

[0034] where ΔHr is per mole of NH 3 The desorption enthalpy, ΔSr per mole of NH 3 The desorption entropy, R is the ideal gas constant.

[0035] According to this formula, the ammonia equilibrium pressure of these salts depends on the temperature.

Abstract

The system has a valve or injector (11) for controlling a flowrate of reducing agent i.e. ammonia, inside a heat exchanger (2) during a starting period such that absorption of the reducing agent by a porous matrix of the exchanger raises temperature of the exchanger. A relief valve (12) regulates pressure inside the exchanger during the period at operating temperature. The relief valve conveys the reducing agent contained in the exchanger, to a storage chamber (1) when pressure inside the exchanger is greater than pressure inside the chamber. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a motor vehicle comprising a turbocompressor (2) a method for reducing quantity of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas of a motor vehicle.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method aimed at reducing NO in motor vehicle exhaust gases X Quantity of SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalyst system. Background technique [0002] Traffic-related emissions of pollutants have undergone significant development in industry for about three decades. The fact that emission limits for the four regulated pollutants (CO, HC, NOx, particulates) have gradually become more stringent has resulted in significant improvements in air quality, especially in large cities. [0003] The ever-increasing use of motor vehicles requires continued efforts to reduce emissions of these pollutants even further. As a result, reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx) within the scope of the more stringent European emission thresholds expected when Euro 6 comes into force in 2015 remains a complex issue. Having available pollution control technologies that are efficient under all operating conditions remains a major challenge for...
