The embodiment of the invention discloses an IMS service call method and an IMS service achieving method and device. The IMS service call method comprises the steps that a core network device receives an IMS service call request message sent by a call subscriber, wherein if the IMS service call request message comprises SDP information of the call subscriber, the core network device sends the IMS service call request message to a called subscriber; if the core network device receives a first IMS service call response message returned by the called subscriber and confirms that the called subscriber does not support a media coded format of the call subscriber according to the response message, the SDP media negotiation process between an MRF entity and the call subscriber and the SDP media negotiation process between the MRF entity and the called subscriber are triggered through an application server, and the call subscriber and the called subscriber can carry out IMS service conversation by utilizing the media coded format converting function of the MRF entity. According to the IMS service call method, the success rate of the IMS service conversation can be improved.
