The invention relates to a method and a system for vehicle camera image synchronization, in which one of vehicle cameras is arranged as a reference camera, a reference signal of the reference camera is utilized to achieve image synchronization among the vehicle cameras. The invention provides the method for vehicle camera image synchronization for synchronizing images of a plurality of cameras of a vehicle. The method comprises implementation steps of generating a reference signal which serves as an image synchronization reference signal of a reference camera as a synchronization reference; and utilizing the generated reference signal to synchronize the reference camera with synchronization parts of other cameras of the vehicle (except the reference camera). According to the method, other communication controlling devices are not required, image synchronization between a controller and the cameras can be achieved, and the rate of identifying objects approaching an overlapped area of a lateral area and a rear area is improved.
