Embodiment Construction

[0022] Figure 1 to 4 This represents a representative embodiment of the device for intraocular injection according to the present invention. Such as figure 1 As shown in the representative embodiment of the device, the device includes a hollow body 50 adapted to receive a pre-filled syringe 52 having a needle 54 at its distal end. In a representative embodiment, the device may be an auto-injector, which delivers the entire contents of the syringe 52 when the device is activated. In another representative embodiment, the device may be a reusable, fixed-dose delivery device for applying only part of the contents of the syringe 52 per injection. Those skilled in the art will understand that, in another representative embodiment, the pre-filled syringe 52 can be replaced by a cartridge having a needle or an interface for engaging a detachable needle assembly.

[0023] The main body 50 is partially installed in the outer sleeve 57 telescopically. The inner casing sleeve 58 is coup...

Abstract

Described is an apparatus for intraocular injection comprising a body (50) adapted to accommodate a syringe (52) having a needle (54), an outer sleeve (57) telescopically coupled to the body (10), and at least two arms (61) hingedly coupled to the outer sleeve (57). Each of the arms (61) comprises a medial portion (65) adapted to encase at least a portion of the needle (54). When the body (50) moves distally relative 10 to said outer sleeve (57), the body (50) engages the arms (61) separating the medial portions (65).

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a device for intraocular injection. Background technique [0002] Intraocular injection devices can be used to administer therapeutic substances to the eyes, such as the eyes of mammals with eye disorders or diseases. [0003] Many vision-threatening eye disorders or diseases require intraocular delivery (more specifically, intravitreal delivery) to deliver drugs (drugs, biological, etc.) and / or implantable devices to the posterior segment of the eye. One such technique for intraocular injection is achieved by intraocular injection into the vitreous. [0004] Traditional devices for intraocular injection may include pre-filled syringes of medication. Traditional pre-filled syringes are provided with a needle cover to maintain the sterility of the needle. However, the needle cover is typically held on the needle with friction, which can cause the needle cover to knock out. If any part of the needle becomes non-sterile before ...
