Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of on-line detection of liner buckling in a pressurized gas storage system. The pressurized gas storage system includes an enclosure having an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface defines an interior volume for holding pressurized gas. A first conductive layer is attached to the housing. An inner liner is disposed over the inner surface. The second conductive layer is attached to the inner bushing. A capacitance meter measures capacitance between the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer, wherein a change in capacitance is indicative of buckling of the storage system.
