Abstract

The present invention describes methods and apparatus for adaptively selecting a radio frequency channel to connect a mobile wireless device to a wireless network. In response to a triggering event, the mobile wireless device selects a radio frequency channel from a list of radio frequency channels using the first radio access technology and transmits a series of connection requests on the selected radio frequency channel.
