Abstract

The invention provides an upper upright column turnover device and method for a marine crane. The upper upright column turnover device comprises two turnover parts and a turnover support, wherein the turnover parts are symmetrically mounted on two sides at the tail part of an upper upright column and each turnover part comprises a rotating shaft; the turnover support comprises a base and two vertical plates, the vertical plates are perpendicularly fixed on the base and notches are formed in the upper ends of the vertical plates; the two rotating shafts of the two turnover parts are correspondingly inserted into the notches, so that the upper upright column can rotate around the turnover support. The method for turning over the upper upright column by using the upper upright column turnover device comprises the following steps: step 1) fixing the turnover support on a platform, and lifting the upper upright column which is horizontally placed onto the turnover support by a lifter to enable the rotating shafts to correspond to the notches of the vertical plates; step 2) enabling the upper upright column to rotate around the rotating shafts by the lifter till the upper upright column is nearly upright; step 3) detaching the upper upright column from the turnover support and vertically hoisting the upper upright column; step 4) moving the lifter to mount the upper upright column onto the base.
