The method for installing the application comprises the following steps: determining a plurality of types of functions needing to be realized according to requirements, wherein the plurality of types of functions include a major function and auxiliary functions; generating a major application for the major function and generating independent plug-ins for the various auxiliary functions; installing the major application, wherein the major application is capable of invoking different plug-ins according to requirements to realize different auxiliary functions. According to the method, the major application and the plug-ins for assisting the application can be independent of each other, and therefore, the installation package can be reduced, the installation speed can be increased and the occupation of the system space can be reduced.
