Abstract

Systems and methods are provided for managing power modes of a given electronic device. The geographic location of the mobile electronic device is determined. The determined geographic location of the mobile electronic device is compared to the stored location of the designated electronic device in the powered-off mode. A wake-up signal is sent to the designated electronic device if the determined geographic location of the mobile electronic device is within the proximity threshold of the designated electronic device, wherein the designated electronic device is configured to enter a power-on mode upon receipt of the wake-up signal.
