The method comprises the steps of acquiring physical parameters of an earthquake origin and a propagation medium; calculating geometrical parameters of a breaking area generated by the earthquake origin; calculating the seismic wavelet frequencies based on the velocity of longitudinal wave in the geometrical parameters of the breaking area and the physical parameters of the propagation medium according to a cavity exploding model. According to the calculating method provided by the invention, the seismic wavelet frequencies can be quickly and accurately calculated; meanwhile, the breaking lasting time information and elastic wave energy conversion rate information of the propagation medium can be obtained; in addition, the calculating method has a guide effect of selecting the earthquake origin and selecting the lithology of the propagation medium in a wild seismic exploration construction process, therefore being beneficial for the work deployment of a user before the seismic exploration and acquisition.
