Problems solved by technology

[0017] While the 2D-MMP baseband model results in a reduced number of predistortion coefficients, it is desirable to have a baseband model for dual-band or more generally multi-band digital predistortion that further reduces the number of predistortion coefficients and thus further reduces the complexity

Embodiment Construction

[0034] The following examples set forth the information necessary to allow one skilled in the art to practice the embodiments and show the best mode for practicing the embodiments. Upon reading the following description in light of the accompanying drawing figures, those skilled in the art will understand the concepts of the disclosure and will recognize applications of these concepts not specifically addressed herein. It should be understood that these concepts and applications are within the scope of the disclosure and the appended claims.

[0035] The present disclosure relates to digital predistortion for concurrent multi-band transmitters that utilize a single adapter and the same set of predistortion coefficients to configure separate digital predistorters for each frequency band. Before discussing embodiments of the present disclosure, it is instructive to discuss a concurrent dual-band transmitter 10 utilizing a conventional dual-band predistortion baseband model as sh...

Abstract

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for digital predistortion for concurrent multi-band transmitters using a single adapter and the same set of predistortion coefficients for separate digital predistorters for each band. In one embodiment, the single adapter is configured to adaptively configure the set of predistortion coefficients based on a memory polynomial digital baseband model of the digital predistorter with the same set of predistortion coefficients for each digital predistorter. The complexity of the digital predistorter is greatly reduced by using the same set of predistortion coefficients for a separate digital predistorter for each frequency band.

Description

[0001] related application [0002] This application claims priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application 61 / 826060, filed May 22, 2013, and U.S. Patent Application 13 / 969,858, filed August 19, 2013, the disclosures of which are hereby incorporated herein by reference , as if stated here in full. technical field [0003] This disclosure relates to digital predistortion for concurrent multiband transmitters. Background technique [0004] In many modern applications, it is desirable to have a concurrent multiband transmitter capable of transmitting concurrent multiband signals. As used herein, a concurrent multiband signal is a signal that occupies multiple different frequency bands. More specifically, a concurrent multiband signal contains frequency components that occupy different contiguous bandwidths for each of the plurality of frequency bands. A concurrent multiband signal does not contain frequency components between adjacent frequency bands. One example of a conc...
