A device driving apparatus and method are disclosed. The device driving apparatus is suitable for supporting interaction between a device and an application program in an operating system based on a Linux kernel, and comprises a matching unit for determining a selected driving program and a selected device according to device access information and driving description information and generating a matching result, and at least one hardware service unit, wherein each hardware service unit corresponds to a unique device type and is used for loading the selected driving program according to the matching result to enable the application program to interact with the selected device.
