Abstract

The invention discloses a disconnection detection method for incremental encoders with UVW pole signals and a method thereof. Three D flip-flops sequentially connected in series are adopted. The input of the first D flip-flop is connected with high level, and the output of the third D flip-flop is disconnection error output. U, V and W signals are taken as clock signals of the three D flip-flops. A phase-A or phase-B signal is used as a reset signal for the three D flip-flops. When the phase-A or phase-B signal is disconnected, a high-level signal is transmitted to the output of the third D flip-flop after trigger of the U, V and W signals, and then, phase-A or phase-B signal disconnection is detected out. By adopting the scheme, disconnection detection of phase A or phase B of an incremental encoder with UVW pole signals can be realized with use of only three D flip-flops.
