Abstract

The present invention discloses a virtual machine allocating method and relates to the technical field of communication. The method is used for realizing a fast and unified virtual machine allocating manner so as to guarantee reliability of virtual machines. The method comprises: acquiring a local address number of a data center, a rack number of each local address, a machine frame number of each rack, a physical host number of each machine frame, and a number of the required virtual machines; and determining the virtual machines which need to be allocated in each rack; when the host number in each machine frame is greater than or equal to a corresponding number of third to-be-allocated virtual machines, respectively allocating one virtual machine to each of hosts of which the number is the same with that of the third to-be-allocated virtual machines; or allocating the virtual machines, of which the number is the same with the hosts in the first machine frame, to the first machine frame, and allocating virtual machines, which are not allocated to the first machine frame, to one or a plurality of hosts of a second machine frame.
