Abstract

A portable vehicle positioning system is provided having two base tower assemblies, each base tower assembly including footings, a cylindrical tower removably attachable to the top of the footings, and a a camera package that moves along the length of the tower; and a data processor that communicates wirelessly with the wireless communication device to process image data from the camera package. Each camera pack includes a camera for capturing image data of a vehicle-mounted target, and a communication device for wireless communication with the data processor. One of the camera packs has a calibration target and the other camera pack has a calibration camera for capturing images of the calibration target. the footings each have a manually operated clamp for removably fixedly attaching the tower body to the footing in one of a plurality of positions such that the orientation of the camera bag to the footing is angularly adjustable, to allow the camera bag to rotate horizontally.
