Embodiment Construction

[0049] refer to figure 1 , numeral 1 denotes a filling unit for filling an object (not shown) with a pourable product, especially a food product.

[0050] The filling unit 1 generally comprises:

[0051] - Slot 2, which is rotatable about Go axis A, which in the embodiment shown is vertical;

[0052] - a conveyor belt (not shown) angularly integral with the trough 2 and comprising a plurality of filling valves fluidly connected to the trough 2 and supported by the conveyor belt in a radially external position with respect to the axis A .

[0053] In more detail, said filling valves can be arranged in a known manner selectively in an open position, in which they fill the respective product, or a closed position, in which they are prevented from filling the respective product.

[0054] Filling unit 1 also includes:

[0055] - Tube 3 for replenishing tank 2 with pourable food product; and

[0056] - Manifold 4 which is mounted around the tube 3 .

[0057] Tube 3 is fixed re...

Abstract

There is disclosed a manifold for a filling unit for filling a plurality of articles with a pourable product, comprising: - a first flange (21), which can be fixed to a tube (3) for filling a tank (2) with a pourable product; - a second flange (22), which can rotate about an axis (A) with respect to first flange (21), can be fixed to tank (2), and defines a passage (23; 24) for a first fluid other than pourable product and adapted to be conveyed, in use, inside tank; - a fluidic line (18), which is bounded between first flange (21) and second flange (22) and is adapted to be filled with a barrier second fluid in order to prevent contaminant agents from reaching passage (23; 24); and - a sealing element (53), which is interposed between first flange (21) and second flange (22); characterized in that manifold (4) further comprises: - at least a piston (70) which is movable along axis (A) and is operatively connected to sealing element (53); and - a pneumatic circuit (71), which is operable to exert a pressure on a third fluid acting, in use, on said piston (70), so as to press said piston (70) against said shoe (53) along said axis (A)).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a manifold of a filling unit for filling a plurality of objects with a pourable product, in particular containers filled with food products. Background technique [0002] It is well known that many pourable food products, including not only food products such as milk, juice or beverages in general, but also detergents, are sold in containers of different shapes and sizes. [0003] These containers are usually manufactured in a bottling line comprising a number of units for performing respective operations on the containers. [0004] Very briefly, a bottling line comprises at least a rinsing unit for rinsing the containers, a filling unit for filling the containers with a pourable food product, a capping unit for capping the containers and a grouping unit for forming groups of containers. [0005] Known filling units generally include: [0006] – a conveyor belt rotating around an axis of rotation; [0007] - a trough contain...
