Abstract

The invention discloses a navigation system with an expandable display device and an operation method thereof. An operating method of a navigation system, comprising: determining device capability of an embedded device; receiving unprocessed map information based on the device capability; generating a locally rendered map layer on a mobile device through the unprocessed map information; generating a map overlay for overlaying the locally rendered map layer; and generating a navigation interface for display on the embedded device with the map overlay and the locally rendered map layer.
