Abstract

The invention provides a network quality detection method and gateway equipment, and relates to the field of communication. The method can evaluate the network quality according to the actual signed bandwidth of a user, and truly reflects the actual condition of the quality of a broadband network. The method comprises the steps: enabling the gateway equipment to receive a network connecting request sent by the user, and building the connection with network side equipment; obtaining network account information corresponding to the user, and obtaining the signed network rate of the user and a rate detection file downloading address according to the network account information; carrying out the bandwidth rate testing a preset time duration according to the rate detection file downloading address, and determining the actual network rate of the user and a network index parameter of the gateway equipment; transmitting the signed network rate, the actual network rate and the network index parameter to a rate detection server, so that the rate detection server transmits the signed network rate, the actual network rate, the network index parameter and the network resource information to a statistical server for network quality detection.
