A water curtain fire extinguishing system comprises a water supply system and multiple sets of water curtain nozzle sections arranged along the longitudinal interval of the tunnel; the water supply system consists of deluge valves units corresponding to all of the sets of water curtain nozzle sections. The deluge valves units are in communication connection with the fire alarm controller. The sets of water curtain nozzle sections comprise multi-row water curtain nozzles installed along the cross section of the tunnel. The fire detector is arranged on the vault or the side wall of the tunnel which is between the adjacent sets of water curtain nozzle sections. According to the tunnel fire extinguishing system, the water curtain nozzle sections produce a full section dense water curtain with a certain thickness on both sides of the fire source and form a water curtain partition section to prevent the spread of fire smoke and to block the air supply on both sides of the water curtain, and finally to achieve the effects of controlling the fire smoke in the tunnel and extinguishing the fire.
