In one example, an in-vehicle system (IVS) of a vehicle terminal may send a set of telematics capabilities to an emergency call answering point (eg, a public safety answering point (PSAP)) using a communication session signaling protocol. The set of telematics capabilities may include one or more actions that the IVS is capable of performing, including sending / resending telematics data to answering points and / or actuating external vehicle systems.
