Abstract

The invention provides an air handwriting identification method and device applied to a user terminal. The method comprises steps that to-be-identified gesture locus is acquired; a coordinate sequence of the to-be-identified gesture locus is acquired, and characteristic sets of the coordinate sequence in multiple directions are extracted; dimension reduction for the characteristic sets of the coordinate sequence in multiple directions is carried out to acquire preset-dimension characteristic sets after dimension reduction; the preset-dimension characteristic sets are inputted to a classifier, and the classifier comprises multiple sub classifiers; sparse coding coefficients of the preset-dimension characteristic sets in the sub classifiers of the classifier are calculated through the classifier; reconstruction errors between the preset-dimension characteristic sets and the sub classifiers are respectively acquired according to the sparse coding coefficients and the sub classifiers corresponding to the sparse coding coefficients; the reconstruction errors are orders, and an identification result is outputted.
