The mass AGV dispatching method comprises the following steps of judging whether an AGV enters a cross node of a path or not; if the AGV enters the cross node of the path, setting an indicating lamp in the driving direction of the AGV to be a traffic allowance indicating lamp, and setting indicating lamps in other driving directions of the path to be traffic stopping indicating lamps; judging whether the AGV leaves the cross node or not; if the AGV leaves the cross node, setting the indicating lamps in corresponding driving directions to be traffic allowance indicating lamps in sequence according to a sequence that AGVs enter the cross node of the path in various driving directions, and setting the indicating lamps in other driving directions to be traffic stopping indicating lamps at the same time. According to the mass AGV dispatching method and the system thereof, disclosed by the invention, dispatching of thousands or more of vehicles is realized by utilizing an IOCP (Input/Output Control Program) technology, a maximum vehicle transporting task is realized within a limited space, the production efficiency is increased, meanwhile, application of large-data volume and high-concurrency communication in an AGV dispatching process is realized, and the smoothness of traffic is regulated.
