Abstract

The invention discloses a neutron retarding material composed of a lithium-containing substance and a material with a large fast neutron effect cross section and a small epithermal neutron effect cross section. The neutron retarding material is used in the beam shaper of a neutron capture therapeutic device as a retarder.
