Abstract

Embodiments described herein are directed at methods and network nodes for operating wireless devices in a wireless network. The network node is configured to determine sub-channels within a system bandwidth of the wireless network. The subchannel is an off-center subchannel relative to the system bandwidth, and the subchannel includes a plurality of contiguous subcarriers taken from one or more contiguous physical resource blocks. The network node may further map a center frequency of the subchannel to a subcarrier of a physical resource block comprised in the subchannel, wherein the center frequency corresponds to a DC subcarrier at a receiver associated with the wireless device. The network node may allocate sub-channels to wireless devices.
