Abstract

The invention provides a method and apparatus for providing a Graphic User Interface (GUI) in a mobile terminal. The method includes executing and displaying a complete mode execution picture of a first application program in an application program execution region; based on a control signal, utilizing the application program execution picture region to display a mini mode execution icon region which includes one or more mini mode execution icons; and while executing the first application program, in response to input used for selecting one of the one or more mini mode execution icons, executing and displaying a mini mode execution picture of a second application program corresponding to the selected mini mode execution icon in the application program execution picture region, wherein the mini mode execution picture includes an execution picture configured to be a partial region of the application program execution picture region, both the first application program and the second application program are executed in the application program execution picture region and concurrently access the complete mode execution picture and the mini mode execution picture displayed in the application program execution picture region, and the mini mode execution picture includes a complete mode change key and an end key.
