The projection method comprises the steps of controlling a projection unit to project a first image; controlling a camera unit to obtain the first image; when the edge information in a color region of the first image is not greater than a preset threshold value, determining that the first image is a target image, and detecting at least beeline contained in the target image; determining a position relationship of each beeline to obtain a rectangle composed of each beeline; when the proportion of the rectangle is as same as that of the target image, controlling the projection unit to project a third image; controlling the image unit to obtain a third image; detecting the definition of the third image; and controlling a second driving unit to drive a moving unit to be far away or close to the plane where the third image is based on the definition. The projection method not only can adjust the focusing distance automatically, but also can adjust the pitch angle of the projector and the distance from the projector to the screen automatically; and the intelligent level is greatly improved.
