Abstract

The invention provides a digital household network multimedia sharing system and a sharing method thereof. The system comprises an intelligent household gateway and a terminal device, wherein the terminal device carries out video coding on a video by using a scalable video coding method to generate a video code stream block with time, space and quality-scalable characteristics and also generate avideo trajectory file; and the terminal device can also set transmission priority of the generated video code stream blocks, and adjust the transmission code rate of the multimedia information streams in a self-adapting mode according to the network conditions. In the sharing method, when the network available bandwidth is reduced, a user can watch smooth video at the client, and the video smoothness can be kept although the video resolution can decrease; and when the network available bandwidth is increased, the client can gradually enhance the video resolution on the premise of keeping the video smoothness. The system is suitable for bandwidth-limited digital household networks, and also suitable for intercommunication among different terminals in isomerous networks.
