Abstract

An attachment (10, fig.1) suitable for a hair care appliance comprises a first subassembly in the form of a cage 60. Components 40 of a second subassembly are mounted on the first subassembly. The first subassembly may be formed from a plurality of spaced apart struts 62. The second subassembly may comprise a plurality of plates 40. Each of the plurality of spaced apart struts may comprise a longitudinal flange 76 extending from the first end to the second end. Each of the plurality of plates 40 may comprise a cooperating longitudinal flange 48, and the two flanges 76, 48 may be welded together. An equal number of plates 40 and struts 62 may be provided. The first subassembly 60 may comprise at least one structural vane 70 extending between a pair of adjacent struts. Each of the plurality of plates 40 in the second subassembly may comprise an indentation 44 for accommodating the structural vanes.
