A plurality of slots or through holes extend through the body between the bore and the external surface of the body permitting gases to expand outward toward the outer tube. A plurality of blind cavities are formed into the external surface of the body and extending into the body without penetrating the bore. These blind cavities provide additional surface area and slow the exit of gases from the suppressor and further cool the gases.
