Front-loading adjustable safety utility knife with safety quick-release lock

An adjustable safety utility knife includes an elongated ergonomically shaped handle formed of two elongate shell members each having a peripheral edge and an outer generally convex surface and an inner generally concave surface. The shell members are fastened at the peripheral edges along a vertical parting plane to form an elongated internal cavity. The handle defines a front end, a back end and an intermediate portion suitable for being gripped by a user and also defining top and bottom surfaces extending along opposite sides of the shell members along the peripheral edges. The handle has a slot-like aperture at the front end substantially aligned with the parting plane and dimensioned for passage of a flat cutting blade therethrough. A guide element within the elongated cavity guides the cutting blade between a first position for safely storing the blade fully inside the cavity and a second position for selectively extending the blade beyond the aperture to expose at least a portion thereof. A manually operated button is arranged on the top surface and coupled to the guide element for selectively moving the blade between the first and second positions. The guide element includes a carriage within the elongated internal cavity for supporting a flat cutting blade and guide elements on at least one of the inner generally concave surfaces for guiding the carriage and cutting blade carried thereby between the first and second positions. The carriage includes a locking element for normally locking a cutting blade mounted thereon to substantially fix the cutting blade against relative longitudinal movements between the cutting blade and carriage. The locking element includes an unlocking element the actuation of which releases the cutting blade to permit relative longitudinal movements between the cutting blade and the carriage. A blade release element on one of the shell members actuates the unlocking element when manual force is applied thereto, whereby application of a force on the release element releases the cutting blade and enables it to be withdrawn through the front end aperture.

Front-loadable refuse container having side-loading robotic arm with motors and other mass mounted at rear of container and use of same with front-loading waste-hauling vehicle having hydraulic front forks or other retractably engageable lift means

A front-loading, refuse collecting vehicle is modularly provided with a combination of a low-profile, front-loadable waste bin (intermediate container) and one or more, side-loading robotic arms. To reduce mechanical stresses along couplings between the vehicle and the combination of the intermediate container and the robotic arm(s), a major portion of the mass of the robotic arm mechanism is situated to the rear of the intermediate container so that a mass and beam combination is defined where the mass-supporting beam has reduced length. More specifically, hydraulic and / or other relatively massive motor means of the robotic arm mechanism are mounted to the rear of a refuse-containing wall of the intermediate container. Elastomeric and / or other dampening means may be interposed between the vehicle and the bulk mass of the combination of the intermediate container and robotic arm mechanism for converting into heat some of the vibrational energy which may otherwise move between the vehicle and the combination of the intermediate container and robotic arm mechanism. A modular sled system may be provided for supporting different robotic arms in combination with refuse containers made of different materials as may be appropriate for different waste collection situations.

Single-drum front loading washing machine

The invention relates to a single-drum front loading washing machine, in particular to a door of the single-drum front loading washing machine. During washing, the drum of the single-drum front loading washing machine contains washing water, but the outer drum does not contain washing water. At present, the single-drum front loading washing machine still uses the machine door of a drum type washing machine, and the porthole of the machine door of the drum type washing machine cannot directly seal the clothes filling opening of the drum. As a result, the highest washing water level can only reach the lower edge of the clothes filling opening of the drum, so high-water level washing or rinsing cannot be performed. In the invention, a door frame 1 is openably arranged on the shell 11 of the washing machine by a hinge, the porthole 2 is fixed on the door frame by a bearing system and a shock absorbing device, or the machine door which is formed by fixedly combining the door frame and the porthole is arranged on the drum by a hinge, and thus, the porthole seals the clothes filling opening of the drum 9 when the door is closed. Therefore, the washing machine provided by the invention can perform high-water level washing or rinsing, the rinsing effect is improved consequently; and during washing, the small clothes in the drum are prevented from entering the space between the drum and an outer barrel 10 to cause a fault.

The invention relates to a tunnel three-dimensional stress field simulator, which comprises a test box, lifting jacks and a hydraulic loading and control device, wherein the test box is arranged in a frame-shaped loading beam; a front loading plate is arranged in front of the test box; a rear loading plate is arranged on a rear wall of the test box; the peripheries of the front loading plate and the rear loading plate are connected through pull rods; the lifting jacks are respectively and fixedly arranged on an inner side of the loading beam and an inner surface of the front loading plate; two longitudinal support steel rails are arranged on a bottom part of the loading beam; and pulleys on bottom parts of the front loading plate and the rear loading plate are matched with the support steel rails. The device preferably simulates a three-dimensional surrounding rock stress field of a stratum where a shield tunnel and a mining method tunnel are located, and realizes construction simulation of excavation, support and the like of tunnel engineering under the condition of the three-dimensional stress field, so that the disturbance influence of construction on the surrounding rocks is researched, the stress performance of a tunnel structure under the condition of a complex stress field is analyzed, a more reliable test basis is provided for the design and the construction of the tunnel, and further the safety and the economy of the tunnel are ensured better.

System and methodology for management and modification of human behavior within a goal-oriented program

A system and methodology for human behavior modification or maintenance implemented by electronic two way communication between a host computing device with software adapted to the task, and a user. The system employs collected data regarding user identity, availability, and behavior, and generates a customized program of sequential events during identified user available time segments on a plurality of days. The events are constantly re-allotted to the available time in given daily time segments through a feedback acknowledgment from the user subsequent to communications sent to the user about an event. This results in a constantly updated program based on user responses which continually adjusts for the remaining time in the time segment on any day during the program. The program is customizable by user input requests such as exclusion of time during the daily time segments, front loading or rear loading of daily events, program day extensions or reductions, starting a program day earlier than the regularly scheduled time, inserting plateaus to repeat days in a program, and backsetting or forwardsetting within a program profile. A shaping function may be employed to further customize the program.
