A front-loading syringe which comprises a movable plunger for injecting liquid contrast media, is rotatably mountable on a front wall of an injector housing with an interference fit and in sealed relationship with respect thereto, with or without a pressure jacket, by a first-quick release mechanism. At the same time, the plunger is connected to an injector drive mechanism by a second readily releasable mechanism. During the mounting operation, a sensor reads injection information from an indicator device on the syringe and feeds it to an injector control. Two inductors formed in multiple layers of conductive layers of integrated circuits are disclosed. Symmetric portions of a first inductor and a second inductor are formed in two or more conductive layers. Portions of the first inductor in adjacent conductive layers are connected by vias, and portions of the second inductor in adjacent conductive layers are connected by vias. The first and second inductor portions form a substantially loop-shaped structure in each conductive layer. A wire loop type instrument for an endoscope has a control wire axially movably inserted in a flexible sheath, and a wire loop connected to the distal end of the control wire. The wire loop is formed by an elastic wire. When the control wire is advanced, the wire loop projects from the distal end of the flexible sheath and expands in a loop shape by its own elasticity. When the control wire is retracted, the wire loop is pulled into the distal end of the flexible sheath and folded. The elastic wire is a stranded wire formed by twisting together a plurality of thin metal wires. The control wire is formed by twisting together a pair of elastic wires extending from the rear end of the wire loop in the opposite direction to the direction of twist of each elastic wire.

A clamping sling attachment is configured for use on a carbine or rifle such as the M4 having it's a butt stock mounted on a cylindrical proximally projecting buffer tube, where a distal end of the buffer tube is threaded into the rear of the rifle's receiver. A peristaltic pump tubing system for use with a positive displacement pump such as a peristaltic pump roller assembly in a surgical procedure. The system comprises a uniquely shaped disposable tubing cassette for retaining the tubing to be used during the surgical procedure and a uniquely shaped cassette receiving station situated adjacent the peristaltic pump roller assembly. The cassette comprises an open backed frame for holding a flexible tube in a loop shape for engagement with the peristaltic rollers. The frame supports a one-sided pressure transducer to indicate the pressure within the flexible tube. The cassette receiving station includes a sensor for engaging the one-sided pressure transducer and is situated adjacent the rollers of the peristaltic pump on the pump housing. A retaining bracket cooperates with the inherent resiliency of the tubing loop to hold the cassette tubing in place against the rollers. The system incorporates a feedback control loop which provides a continuous visible motion that indicates to a user that the system is operating.

In particular, the invention relates to optical effect layers (OEL) showing a viewing-angle dependent optical effect, devices and processes for producing said OEL and items carrying said OEL, as well as uses of said optical effect layers as an anti-counterfeit means on documents. The OEL comprises a plurality of non-spherical magnetic or magnetizable particles, which are dispersed in a coating composition comprising a binder material, the OEL comprising two or more loop-shaped areas, being nested around a common central area that is surrounded by the innermost loop-shaped area, wherein, in each of the loop-shaped areas, at least a part of the plurality of non-spherical magnetic or magnetizable particles are oriented such that, in a cross-section perpendicular to the OEL layer and extending from the centre of the central area to the outer boundary of the outermost loop-shaped area, the longest axis of the particles in each of the cross-sectional areas of the looped-shaped areas follow a tangent of either a negatively curved or a positively curved part of hypothetical ellipses or circles.

An electronic device having at least a loop-shaped electric conductor generating electric power by electromagnetic induction is provided. The electronic device includes a voltage-detecting unit, a voltage-comparing unit and a separating unit. The voltage-detecting unit is configured to detect a voltage generated in the electric conductor by the electromagnetic induction. The voltage-comparing unit is configured to make a comparison between the voltage detected by the voltage-detecting unit and a predetermined reference voltage and determining whether the voltage detected by the voltage-detecting unit exceeds the predetermined reference voltage. The separating unit is configured to break an electric connection between the electronic conductor and an electronic circuit connecting to the electric conductor when the voltage-comparing unit determines that the voltage detected by the voltage-detecting unit exceeds the predetermined reference voltage.
