A contact assembly for an electrical connector includes: a row of signal contacts having plural contacting portions and plural mounting portions, the row of signal contacts including at least one pair of differential signal contacts; an insulator secured to the row of signal contacts; and an upper ground plate and a lower ground plate surrounding the row of signal contacts; wherein at least one of the upper ground plate and the lower ground plate integrally has plural ground mounting portions aligned with the plural mounting portions of the row of signal contacts; and at least one of the upper ground plate and the lower ground plate has plural shields each located between the at least one pair of differential signal contacts and an adjacent signal contact of the row of signal contacts.
