An assembly for modifying an automatic firearm such as a carbine rifle to relocate operation of the firearm charge handle. The assembly includes a fore-grip bracket, a drive rod movable in the foregrip bracket and attached to the charging handle release lever, and a cocking handle attached to the drive rod, the rod being attached to the charge handle for alternately releasing and latching the charge handle for clearing the firearm. In one embodiment, the foregrip bracket is attached to a removable rail attached to the foregrip by a jaw type device. Another embodiment attaches to the foregrip by attaching the foregrip bracket by screws. Another embodiment attaches to a foregrip having no rail by means of a groove cut in the grip, having a pair of spaced apertures into which hooks of foregrip mount, the bracket being held in place by a rod receiver and rotatable latch.

An improved bolt and bolt carrier with integral gas key having an extension nozzle threadedly secured and pinned to the gas key for use with a direct gas operated firearm is provided. The extension nozzle is designed to receive a portion of the host firearms gas operating system. The firing pin retaining pin is oriented so as to expose its widest profile to the firing pins annular flange, increasing its service life. The bolt has a plurality of lugs extending from its forward end and an extractor recess. The present invention is a gas system for a firearm comprising a hollow gas tube extending between a forward gas tap in a firearm's barrel and a rearward piston assembly to impinge upon and operate the firearm's bolt operating system. The system does not have a translation rod extending between the two components as in prior art systems nor does it have a rearward tap like others. As such, it balances cleanliness and weight reduction of the prior art systems and reduces moving parts.

The bullet trap captures bullets from live rounds and provides an visual and tactile indication of live rounds having been fired. The bullet trap is designed for the shooting of blank rounds, but is adapted to handle live rounds having a bullet in a semi-automatic or automatic firearm.

An automatic firearm that includes a unitary portion including a human interface and a barrel defining a longitudinal dimension. A slidable portion is attached to the unitary portion so as to permit the slidable portion to slide in the longitudinal dimension. A gas buffer plenum positioned at the end of the barrel of an automatic firearm. A barrel side end cap connects the system to the barrel. A plenum tube holds one or more chamber walls and retains gas pressure within the enclosure. A target side end cap creates the final pressure chamber enclosure and is attached to the plenum tube to lock the system together. This gas buffer plenum allows a bullet to leave the barrel of the firearm before the bolt of the firearm starts to open. As the gas buffer plenum is filled with the exploding gas behind the bullet, the gas chambers build and maintain pressure that is then forced back through a hole in the plenum. The gas is forced down a gas tube or into a piston system. Depending on the configuration of the firearm, either the gas force, or the piston, strikes the bolt and cycles the firearm. The system may also be used to retrofit a gas operated firearm that uses a traditional gas block design.
