Embodiment Construction

[0039] figure 1 a and figure 1 b shows the effect of mobile physical interference in an exemplary ultra-dense network 100 . An ultra-dense network is a wireless network based on many low-power access nodes (ANs), where each access node may include a controller and one or more remote radio units (RRUs).

[0040] Such as figure 1 a and figure 1 As shown in the example of b, the ultra-dense network 100 includes remote radio units 102 , 104 , 106 , 108 , 110 . For example, the radio frequency units in this example may be deployed on lampposts or other suitable structures along street 112 or other pathways. The remote radio units 102, 104, 106, 108, 110 may form a single access node, or may all be controlled by separate access nodes as part of an ultra-dense network or communication system. Although the term remote radio unit is used herein to refer to a radio transceiver unit operating as part of an access node, it is readily recognized that remote The radio frequency unit m...

Abstract

A computing device for communicating with a node of a wireless communication system. The computing device includes a processor configured to receive radio link measurements corresponding to user nodes. The processor determines physical interference based on the radio link measurements, and determines an at-risk user node and times at which the at-risk user node may experience radio link interference based on the physical interference. The processor then determines a connectivity adjustment for the at-risk user node and sends the determined connectivity adjustment to the wireless communication system.

Description

technical field [0001] Aspects of the disclosed embodiments relate generally to wireless communication systems, and in particular to ultra-dense wireless networks. Background technique [0002] Ultra-Dense Networks (UDNs) are increasingly used to increase the capacity of wireless communication systems due to the rising usage of mobile devices. In ultra-dense networks, it is important to ensure that data flowing into and out of active user nodes is not affected by significant changes in channel conditions, e.g., a sudden and significant decrease in the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) of a signal. Since ultra-dense networks mainly operate under LoS conditions, a large vehicle or other physical interference passing between a user node and its connected remote radio unit may cause loss or severe degradation of the wireless link. These unexpected changes in channel conditions can result in significantly lower throughput, increased latency, and an overall worse end...
