Abstract

A system and method for establishing a secure conference call. In one example system, a central teleconferencing server establishes a point-to-point connection with an accessory device that includes a secure element and connects to a corresponding participant device. The teleconferencing server includes interfaces to a plurality of secure elements configured to scramble and descramble media signals transmitted to and from the accessory device. In another example, one of the participant devices acts as a central teleconferencing server. In other examples, the participant devices communicate on the conference call via a point-to-point connection between all accessory devices connected to the participant device. The accessory device includes a secure element for encrypting and decrypting media signals communicated between the accessory devices.
