Abstract

The invention relates to a machine tool (10) for finishing machining of workpieces, having a machine frame (12); at least one finishing tool holder (14) for holding at least one finishing tool for finishing machining a workpiece section; a headstock (20) and a tailstock for receiving the workpiece and for rotation of the workpiece about an axis of rotation (24); an oscillating drive (25) for generating an oscillating relative movement between the finishing tool and workpiece parallel to the axis of rotation, wherein the headstock and the tailstock moves relative to the machine frame along an axis of movement (36) extending transverse to the axis of rotation between a machining position (B), in which a workpiece received between the headstock and tailstock is machinable, and a transfer position, in which a workpiece to be finished can be received between the headstock and tailstock and a finishend machined workpiece is deliverable.
