Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method for intercept based transmission. The method is performed at a first type of communication device that has multiple beams and can operate on an unlicensed spectrum. The method includes: identifying a beam direction for a second type of communication device when there is data directed to the second type of communication device; and obtaining a backoff count for the identified beam direction. The method also includes selecting at least one beam direction to listen to, during which a backoff count corresponding to the at least one beam direction is changeable. A beam in each of the at least one beam direction covers at least one communication device of the second type having data directed thereto. The method also includes scheduling a transmission to the second type of communication device in the identified beam direction when a backoff count corresponding to the identified beam direction reaches a particular threshold. Embodiments of the present disclosure also relate to corresponding apparatus and computer program products.
