The method comprises steps: when the logging data contain a shale content curve, a stratigraphic longitudinal wave time difference, a rock volume density and the shale content are acquired through the logging data; according to the type of stratigraphic lithology, a shear wave time difference correction coefficient and a correction value are determined; and according to the stratigraphic longitudinal wave time difference, the rock volume density, the shale content, the shear wave time difference correction coefficient and the correction value, shear wave time differences for different lithologic strata are calculated according to a preset depth step. The stratigraphic shear wave time difference can be calculated by only using the conventional logging data, the method is thus applicable to unconventional oil and gas strata, carbonate strata, igneous strata, glutenite strata, sand mudstone strata, tight sandstone strata and the like, the application range is wide, and the shear wave time difference calculation precision is high.
