Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method at a first type of communication device capable of operating on both licensed and unlicensed carriers. The method comprises, at different sensing slots within a duration, for respective links directed to at least two communication devices of a second type capable of operating on both the licensed carrier and the unlicensed carrier, Channel sensing is performed on the unlicensed carrier. The duration is specified as a fraction of a subframe in a frame structure used on the licensed carrier. The method also includes scheduling transmissions on channels determined to be available based on corresponding channel sensing.
