Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for updating a system. The method comprises: detecting a current power value of a terminal after a system installation package of a pre-installed version is downloaded; issuing a first prompt message to a user when the current power value is lower than a preset power threshold, wherein the first prompt message is used to prompt the user to update the current system when the power value of the terminal reaches the preset power threshold; and when the power value of the terminal reaches the preset power threshold, updating the current system according to the system installation package of the pre-installed version. According to the technical scheme of the present disclosure, when the power value is lower than the preset power threshold, the current system is not updated, but a prompt is issued to the user; and when the power value of the terminal reaches the preset power threshold, the current system is automatically updated, sothat multiple operations of the user are reduced, the user time is saved, and the system can be updated more simply and promptly.
