The system comprises: a depositing and picking platform arranged in a preset depositing and picking area of the library, connected with a library server and configured to acquire an operation instruction of a user and to communicate with the libraryserver based on the operation instruction; the library server wirelessly connected to a book depositing and picking device, and configured to acquire corresponding book information based on the operation instruction, and to feed the book information back to the depositing and picking platform or send a control instruction to a book depositing and picking device; and the book depositing and picking devices disposed on respective shelves in the library and configured to move the books on the depositing and picking platform to corresponding book depositing locations based on the control instruction, or move the books at the corresponding picking locations to the depositing and picking platform.
