The method comprises the following steps of acquiring a light intensity value of a first monitored street lamp; comparing the light intensity value with a preset threshold value; if the light intensity value is lower than the threshold value, acquiring first traffic flow information; according to the first traffic flow information, judging whether a lighting street lamp between the first monitored street lamp and the second monitored street lamp is started or not; if so, sending an opening control instruction; and starting the lighting street lamp between the first monitored street lamp and the second monitored street lamp according to the opening control instruction. The opening of the lighting street lamp can be controlled according to the traffic information when the light intensity value is lower than the threshold value, so that the street lamp can be prevented from being turned on all the time, thereby saving power resources.
