Abstract

The invention discloses a video key frame extraction method based on salient regions in the technical field of computer image processing and pattern recognition. The method comprises the steps of firstly, carrying out sampling conversion on video data, and converting a video into a continuous frame image sequence; secondly, extracting the salient region in each frame of image by utilizing a spectrum residual model; thirdly, sorting the salient regions according to areas of the salient regions in the images, and performing color vector vectorization on the salient regions sorted in the front; and finally, measuring the similarity between two continuous frames of images according to the vectorized salient regions, and determining video key frames according to the similarity.
