The hydroxy polyester resin for the high-gloss powder coating is prepared through polymerization of the following raw materials: terephthalic acid, 6-aminocaproic acid, domoic acid, 3,6-dithia-1,8-octanediol, 2-propenoic acid-2,18-dihydroxy-4,7,10,13,16-pentaoxanonadecane-1,19-diyl ester, neopentyl glycol, 3-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)propyl trimethoxy silane and3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl alcohol. It has been determined that the obtained hydroxy polyester resin has good melt fluidity at 200 DEG C, low melt viscosity and long leveling time, and allowsa film to have high gloss.
