Abstract

The invention discloses a method for obtaining cotton mutants by utilizing heavy ion beam mutagenesis. By utilizing heavy ion beams for mutagenesis, the mutagenized cotton seeds are mulched and sown, and the plants to be mutagenized grow to 2 leaves and 1 core. For transplanting, all plants of M1 generation were self-sealed and self-crossed. After maturity, a single plant was harvested and self-crossed bolls were used for sowing. M2 generation plants were analyzed and investigated for plant traits during the growth period, and different phenotypic variations were screened. Mutants, harvested individually, and continued to grow by line until mutants with stable phenotypic variation were obtained.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to cotton mutants, in particular to a method for obtaining cotton mutants by using heavy ion beam mutagenesis. Background technique [0002] Cotton is one of the important economic crops in my country. It is not only an important raw material for the textile industry, but also a raw material for national defense, medicine and other industries. It occupies an important position in the national economic system. China has been a major cotton producer and consumer in the world for many years, and improving cotton varieties is the most effective and fundamental way to improve the international competitiveness of cotton production. Cotton germplasm resources are the material basis for cultivating new high-yield and high-quality cotton varieties, and play an important role in cotton breeding research. The more high-quality cotton germplasms are available, the more widely used in research, the greater the effect of breeding new v...
