Embodiment Construction

[0065] The principles of the disclosure will now be described with reference to some example embodiments. It should be understood that these embodiments are described only for the purpose of illustration, and to help those skilled in the art to understand and implement the present disclosure, without implying any limitation on the scope of the present disclosure. The disclosure described herein can be implemented in various ways other than those described below.

[0066] In the following description and claims, unless otherwise defined, all technical and scientific terms used herein have the same meaning as commonly understood by one of ordinary skill in the art to which this disclosure belongs.

[0067] As used herein, the term "network device" or "base station" (BS) refers to a device capable of providing or hosting a cell or coverage area in which terminal devices can communicate. Examples of network equipment include, but are not limited to, a Node B (NodeB or NB), an Evo...

Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods and devices for data retransmission. In example embodiments, a method implemented in a first device is provided. According to the method, a RLCpacket to a second device is transmitted on a RLC layer. It is determined whether an ACK feedback for the RLC packet is received from the second device during a predetermined RLC retransmission period. In response to missing the ACK feedback during the RLC retransmission period, the RLC packet is retransmitted to the second device on the RLC layer, regardless whether a NACK feedback for the previously transmitted RLC packet is received from the second device.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of telecommunications, and in particular, to methods and devices for data retransmission. Background technique [0002] In current telecommunication networks, such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks based on Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) specifications, data retransmission mechanisms are designed to reduce the residual error rate of data packets. There are two types of retransmission mechanisms including the Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) procedure on the Medium Access Control (MAC) layer and the Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) procedure on the higher Radio Link Control (RLC) layer. In these two retransmission mechanisms, according to whether the data packet is successfully received, an acknowledgment (ACK) or negative acknowledgment (NACK) feedback is provided from the receiving side to the sending side to trigger retransmission of the data packet. First, the ...
