Abstract

The invention provides a protector which can be removed with one hand and which does not require repositioning of the hands to hold a medical needle when performing a puncture; and a medical needle assembly in which said protector is combined with a medical needle. Provided is a protector (1) that is fitted and attached to a medical needle (2) so as to be detachable therefrom. The protector (1) isconfigured such that when a base end section of the protector (1) is pressed while the protector (1) is attached to the medical needle (2), the protector (1) moves forward to terminate the fitted state so as to cause detachment thereof from the medical needle (2).
