Abstract

Apparatus for performing searching of a plurality of reference images is disclosed. the apparatus comprises one or more electronic processing devices. The one or more electronic processing devices executes the following steps: acquiring at least one image; processing the image to determine a plurality of sub-images and a plurality of image features associated with the image and / or sub-image; and performing an image search using the image, the sub-images and the image features, wherein the image is at least one of a sample image and a plurality of reference images, and the searching is performed, at least in part, by searching a plurality of reference images to identify a plurality of reference images that are similar to the sample image.
