Abstract

Tester for relays includes housing, test circuit containing controller, electronic switch assembly, power supply, indicator LED, test enable switch, relay type switch, and five electrical leads each connected to one terminal of the relay . With the relay type switch set to the relay type under test, each lead powered, and the test actuated switch is actuated, the controller can ground each lead in turn and then count the number of other leads that are thus grounded. The controller then illuminates at least one indicator to indicate a passed relay test or a failed relay test based on the measured count. Once the leads connected to the relay coil are identified, a cycle test of the relay can be performed.
