Embodiment Construction

[0046] Various aspects of the present disclosure will be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings. Embodiments disclosed herein may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the aspects set forth herein.

[0047] first reference figure 1 , which shows a view from above of an absorbent article 1 in the form of a baby diaper. absorbent article 1 in figure 1 is shown in the unfolded and flattened state. Furthermore, the absorbent article 1 is based on an absorbent structure intended to absorb body exudates from the wearer in order to provide the wearer with a dry and comfortable fit.

[0048] Such as figure 1 As shown, the absorbent article 1 comprises a liquid permeable topsheet 3, a liquid impermeable backsheet 4, an absorbent core 5 sandwiched between the topsheet 3 and the backsheet 4. The topsheet 3 is arranged at the surface of the article 1 , ie at the side facing the wearer, while the b...

Abstract

An absorbent article (1) comprising an absorbent component (5a, 5b, 5c), having a centre segment and two side segments separated by channel sealings (9, 10), sandwiched between a liquid-permeable topsheet (3) and a liquid-impermeable backsheet (4). The absorbent component (5a, 5b, 5c) is formed so that the total amount of absorbent material in the centre segment (5a) is generally equal to, or greater than, the total amount of absorbent material in each one of the side segments (5b, 5c) and that the channel sealings (9, 10) and the centre segment (5a) are generally parallell to the longitudinalaxis (y1) and that the absorbent component (5a, 5b, 5c) is configured with an ability to expand on wetting and displaying a first volume in dry condition and a second volume in completely expanded wet condition, the second volume being greater than the first volume, and the core cover (11,12), which is arranged around the absorbent component (5a, 5b, 5c), constitutes volume-limiting means and defines and limits an expansion space for the centre segment (5a) so that the centre segment (5a) is prevented from reaching complete expansion to the second volume on wetting, and that the ratio of thefirst width (a1) of the centre segment (5a) and the width (a3) of the absorbent component (5a, 5b, 5c), in dry condition, is 0.25-0.45.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to an absorbent article comprising an absorbent core sandwiched between a liquid permeable topsheet and a liquid impermeable backsheet. The present disclosure also relates to an absorbent core for an absorbent article, and a method for manufacturing an absorbent article of the above-mentioned type. Background technique [0002] Wearable and disposable absorbent articles such as in the form of diapers, incontinence garments, feminine garments and the like are well known. Such articles serve to absorb, distribute and store various types of body exudates during use while providing a high level of comfort and dryness to the wearer. [0003] Conventional disposable absorbent articles in the form of diapers are usually designed with an absorbent core sandwiched between a topsheet and a backsheet. The article is arranged along a longitudinal axis and along a transverse axis extending in a perpendicular direction relative to th...
